The Plastic Cup

It is very important to recycle. That almost sounds a bit silly to say out loud, it’s taken as read isn’t it? We all know that a person who recycles is basically a good person, an environmentally sound person, an angel in comparison to those devils who leave water running for too long and through away their paper, plastic, and other recyclable produce. But, and here’s the crux, just because you know that recycling is good, it doesn’t mean you can necessarily pinpoint what products are and aren’t recyclable. Take the common plastic cup, and friend of the Water Cooler Company’s Water Coolers, this is not nearly as bad for the environment as people would immediately want to assume. Just because it is disposable, meant for one-use only, does not mean it is wasteful. In comparison to china mugs which can harbour bacteria when not washed up thoroughly, the plastic cup is entirely hygiene friendly. In addition to this, less energy is used in the manufacturing of plastic cups than china ones. It is commonly believed that plastics use up oil, but actually they are produced using only the by-products of oil that has been used in other applications, still only a small percentage is used.
