Lawrence Jones, managing director of UKFast, stated that people tend to rely on email at the expense of picking up the phone and building stronger relationships. Despite the internet being integral to business growth, it is important to recognize the value of face-to-face communication with colleagues and clients.
Email-free Fridays are being introduced by several organizations to reduce the misuse of email. Employees relay their messages through the telephone or go in person and deliver the message to recipients.
The discussion also focused on issues relating to sending emails to the wrong individual and causing unintended trouble through misinterpreted facts.
