Yaz Legal Information
Reports of Yaz side effects continue to rise as the makers of Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella prepare themselves for further judicial proceedings and more future cases. Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, makers of Yasmin and Yaz, and Barr Pharmaceuticals, makers of the generic version Ocella have been bombarded with allegement ranging from downplaying the severeness of side effects in their advertisements to wittingly unleashing a serious and potentially fatal product on American women.
Mass Tort is simply civil lawsuit that encompasses a number of plaintiffs. This legal action is taken against one or more corporate defendants in court. Unlike a class action where a number of people take it upon themselves to bring forth litigation jointly, in mass tort the original plaintiffs and law firms use mass media resources to reach other possible plaintiffs that they would not ordinarily meet. Those TV ads and websites asking if you are a loved one have been effected by a particular product are the result of mass tort status.
Adult Females taking Yasmin, Yaz or Ocella to avoid becoming pregnant or to treat PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) or severe acne have reportedly suffered serious injury to their health and wellness. Although most pharmaceuticals present some form of side effects, the main issue surrounding Yaz seems to be that the original commercials downplayed the health risks and side effects. This attracted users to the product that may not have taken it otherwise had they been properly informed about the risks posed by Ocella, Yasmin and Yaz.
