Genetic Test to Detect Hair Loss in Australia

Bloged in Health, Self Improvement Hub by Admin Saturday October 10, 2009 at about 1:13 am

With age comes wiseness, so the old saying goes, but unfortunately with age also comes hair loss. The scientific name for hair loss is alopecia, and for years modern science has been trying to cypher out why regular, healthy individuals sometimes lose their hair in particular areas or shapes. Recently, a new genetic test has been developed to determine the risk of hair loss or thinning in those who have not yet seen the discouraging signals of alopecia. This product is called HairDX, and it’s changing the way men and women deal with hair loss.

Currently the only FDA authorised treatments for hair loss are successful in clinical trials at persevering existing hair instead of re-growing new hair. Based on your HairDX results, you can easily keep your existing hair rather than anticipating for the first signals of hair loss, then hastily trying to re-grow hair at a lower success rate.

Accessible only at Advanced Hair Studio, HairDX can give at-risk patients for hair loss a head start at preserving their existing hair. The HairDX test is painless and is perfect for men and women at least 18 years of age. A trained professional at Advanced Hair Studio simply collects a genetic information sample from the inside of the patients cheek via a swob. The results are examined and returned to the doctor in a secure, private manor.

Results from HairDX are invaluable to those who are worried about losing their hair. Test results show whether or not your genes show a specific variant in the androgen receptor gene (AR), which is the cause for alopecia. Test results are clear and easy to understand: Men who test positive for the variant AR gene have an approximately 70% chance of developing Male Pattern Hair Loss (MPHR). Conversely, men who test negative for the variant AR gene have approximately a 70% chance of not developing MPHR. Test results are determined differently for women.

A professional at Advanced Hair Studio will be able to provide you with next step solutions based on your individual test results.

Dont wait for the warning signs of onset MPHR, alopecia, or hair thinning ” Talk to the staff at Advanced Hair Studio about the simple, painless HairDX test. You can save an abundance of time, money, and energy in the future, and give yourself a fighting chance at preserving and keeping your natural hair.

We can attribute the Trench Coat’s advancement to esteem to the British military. It grew into an essential clothing during the war. When the war was brought to an end, military officers started donning them in public. Since then, trench coats have caught on and have drawn thousands of admirers and users.

Enhancements were introduced to the Trench Coat as the years went by. They have been re-designed to display distinct styles, characteristics and colors. Buyers can nowadays prefer the single or double breasted, cropped (othewise known as three quarter length), belted, full length, and wax-coated trench coats. Another development Trench Coats went through is that they are nowadays likewise being worn by ladies.

Adaptability and flexibility are two new added features of the Trench Coat. A removable liner is now integrated in the Trench Coat’s design so that we can wear it all year round. Another thing to mention is that the users’ preference suggest that pea coats, blazers, duffle and leather coats are now the sought after designs.

Another significant improvement that Trench Coats had is that apart from being worn over suits, it can now compliment a variety of outfits and dressing. They go well with fashionable pants, everyday jeans and even skirts. A particular artfulness is bestowed to your outfit when you wear them. Trench Coats concreted their mark when famous icons like Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn commenced to use and popularize them. Different personalities such as politicians, renowned athletes and celebrities have been figured to use them.

There is no question that Trench Coats have re-emerged in modern times. With superb and fanciful designing integrated with leather’s unfading beauty, they have resisted time and has captivated the modern man’s unending pursuit for fashion. It’s about time you get one in your wardrobe.

My Hair Loss Story

Bloged in Beauty Treatments + Products, Health, Self Improvement Hub by Admin Wednesday September 2, 2009 at about 6:56 pm

My hair loss treatment journey started the day I started to notice my thinning hair and my bald spot becoming bigger. The most obvious thing to do was to find ways to style my hair to conceal my bald spot. I discovered myself wearing more hats on the weekends as I went out with my wife, acquaintances or family. Walking in to work every morning without my hat was a painful experience. You change the way you think when you are experiencing hair loss. It is so true that you never know what you have until you lose it. That can be accurate about your hair loss.

As I looked in the mirror I started to treasure every one of the hair strands I had left. It was as if with each strand of hair I lost, so was a small portion of my confidence gone as well. A acquaintance of mine had been suffering the same problem as me. Yet recently he appeared so much more relaxed and I noticed that it was as if his hair was growing back. I never wanted to bring it up but after a while I decided to ask. It was then that he told me about Advanced Hair Studio. With just a few visits my friend Josh had not only regained his hair, but his confidence as well. After speaking to Josh and understanding what Advanced Hair has done for him, I took the courage to make an appointment for a free consultation.

I was a little sceptical at first. Results were obvious within a few weeks. Not only on my scalp, but in my behaviour. I began to lose the hats on the weekends and I quickly began to feel better about myself. My wife has also observed a change in my day to day behaviour as well. It is amazing how just a few treatments to the Advanced Hair Studio had begun to change my life as a whole. I have always been skeptical about people noticing my bald spot. Now, I am not terrified to look people in the eyes again as I have my full set of hair back.

Advance Hair Studio has not only given me back my hair little by little, but a big chunk of my life as well. If you are going through hair loss I highly recommend them as it has done so much for me in just a few months of treatments. Don’t let baldness take your self-confidence away.

How Hair Loss Impacts One’s Self-Confidence

Bloged in Self Improvement Hub by Admin Tuesday June 30, 2009 at about 7:02 pm

Infrequently do we find youths and young adults during their early 20’s with spots of hair gone from their scalps. Ample hair loss in men arises in their 30’s and forties despite the fact it isn’t uncommon from men in their late 20’s to drop hair as well. The thought of aging is feared amongst today’s community. Where aging was in the past a symbol of enlightenment and judiciousness, it is now primarily looked upon as if the elder you get, the more unexciting you turn out. This is certainly not TRUE in most cases. However, since this is how the media & modern society portrays middle aged men and women, & losing hair is a symbol of getting older, it is no wonder that hair loss may affect someone’s confidence.

TV shows regularly portray middle aged men with hair loss as the people most unlikely to succeed with securing dates, or being happy in general. The character George Costanza of NBC’s hit TV show, Seinfeld, is one classic example of this. Costanza was in his late 30’s and endured classic male pattern hair loss. He quite regularly referred to his hair loss as one of his grea excuses for never before succeeding at things in life. Men & women alike both have a tendency to feel self conscious, especially when it comes to the opposing sex. In our culture, a thick, luscious, head of hair is considered to be appealing, and make someone appear more youthful and healthy.

Modern technology is most helpful in restoring hair loss. Advanced hair treatments are attainable to restore one’s hair & make it look completely normal as if you had never lost any hair to begin with. It is not necessary in this era & age to have to settle with hair loss. A person’s quality of life doesn’t have to be altered with low confidence when there are so abounding advanced hair treatments to choose from. Whether a medicinal drug, topical therapy, follicle transplants, or laser therapy, there are tonnes of options that should suit many budgets.

Hair loss treatments arepresently extraordinarily popular & tried out by both men and women. Individuals who have lost their hair due to illness & have found it is never to grow back can occasionally be advantageous from advanced scalp therapy. Even if one are not effectively losing hair, but suffer from a receding hair line or your hair is thinning, you may benefit from an array of hair loss remedy. The days of relying on fake looking wigs and spray on hair are finished. With so countless selections of various hair loss therapy, people no longer have to live life feeling any less confident than they did in their early twenties.

Keep it Right Thru Relationships for Real Singles

Bloged in Dating, Self Improvement Hub by Admin Monday June 15, 2009 at about 1:32 pm

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not your typical cheesball bachelor, lethargically accustomed to going missing the fun on a Friday night. I’d wager you guys haven’t heard me ramble on great dating and relationships. That’s just me for ya.

Datelessness is an avoidable quality and completely ripped out of my family history. Even so, There’s no point avoiding it, I had to end a solid cohabitation which meant a lot for us but simply would never last. So one would say it has been years since I was dating. I don’t hold the great expectations for dating I used to enjoy.

Being single is new and free. It’s a given that I don’t know how to lounge about, peacefully devowering Jack Bauer (from 24) reruns. The number one cause of this case of fresh break-up dating apathy? My coworkers are stiffs, and everyone else is boring.

My one-time hunting pal, Brandon, who has never had dating boredom, sympathized because he is almost in a similar place. He introduced me to this Dallas dating serviceI joined. I can’t argue with chatting up quality ladies who share my passions. Go figure, I got real about my dating life and signed up.

Be honest, ya can’t be disappointed due to going dateless when ya haven’t tried to meet anyone. Like our college basketball coach Jason Kniffen often said when his wife wasn’t looking, “If you don’t run you can’t score, sparky.”

The man didn’t know my name. Even so, the man was truly a wise sould in a way nobody could understand. He meant well to everyone. The fantastic Dallas matchmaking service I joined might have short circuted coach’s brain.

At great expectations singles events I shared a great evening with a ton of quality and desirable women that meet my expectations. I truthfully had a blast with a few indisputably well-situated singles. I ducked out of the mixer a little early following a promising exchange of numbers, and as a plus, I came across some social networking relationships for my business. Very cool.

Put yourself in the play. You won’t be happy if you don’t try. Don’t sell yourself short, believe in your own great expectations for life’s sake.

Frankly,

Josiah

Excuses Versus Action – What Wins Out In Your Life?

Bloged in Self Improvement Hub by Admin Sunday March 1, 2009 at about 3:58 pm

Over coming fear of anything is fraught with excuses isn’t it? Just today I experienced a phase of procrastination surrounding a bicycle road race that is scheduled for this weekend with a barrage of excuses that amazed me.

I think as we face challenges which can be excused away, we indulge ourselves mightily. But, in the end we are still faced with a decision, and isn’t that what challenges are all about in the first place?

Elimination of the fear is almost instantaneous, as soon as a decision is made. Of course, if the challenge was not overcome, but instead rationalized away and the decision made was to not perform, then guess what? Yup, you will entertain that challenge again at some point in time down the road.

So, what’s the moral of the story? We could just look at all challenges and say, “I might as well do it, because it’s going to come around again anyway.” But they aren’t always that easily explained away.

In my case, I really don’t perform well physically racing in 90-degree heat, so there are safety factors to be considered. Of course, I could race slower than I might otherwise, or try to stay with the peleton and wither toward the end, or not race at all and save my body the torture. There is also the philosophy that if you train in heat you can ride in heat, then I could look at this race as preparation for the rest of the summer.

Well, you get the gist of my thoughts here. All “excusing” is generally just that, looking for a way out. Anytime we look for a way out, we aren’t facing the demons and fighting to a solution; we are in avoidance mode.

How does that old saying go? “What doesn’t kill makes you stronger.” Obviously, I’m not advocating anything that dangerous, but the point is well taken…if we take on the challenge we grow. With growth comes strength of character, strength of body and strength of mind.

With any kind of strength comes stamina, quick decision-making skills are honed, life gets easier and a general sense of happiness permeates all you do.

So, which would you rather have: excuses, avoidance and fear, or decisiveness, thorough involvement with life and happiness? I think you know the answer.

In the end it’s just one man’s opinion…mine.

Thinking About Thinking – Part 1

Bloged in Self Improvement Hub by Admin Thursday February 26, 2009 at about 7:50 pm

How to Think Your Way to Working Smarter.

How much time do you spend just thinking? Take a guess – how much during any given day, week or month? I’m don’t mean the kind of thinking you do while driving in your car, commuting on the train, during your morning run, or even in the shower. I’m referring to the kind of thinking you do ensconced in your office, or your den, or perhaps your garden. You are not reading a book or a magazine, nor watching TV, nor listening to music. You are simply thinking.

How much time do you spend doing that? Most of you will answer little to none. Many people consider spending time “just thinking” to be a luxury. After all, you have real problems – customers, employees, investors – all wanting some of your time, all wanting you to do something. And in our action driven society, we need to be doing something – much of the time we seem to be doing two or three things at once. But thinking?

It seems silly to rhetorically ask why this is so important. Thinking is the process by which companies and people create intellectual capital and knowledge. Thinking is the way we actively develop new ideas, rather than reacting to our current circumstances. Thinking is how we invent strategy. Thinking is one of the hardest things there is for people to do, let alone do well. But to figure out how to make the most of your precious resources, to leap ahead of your competition, and to master the ever-accelerating pace of change, you have no choice. You have to think about things.

There seem to be two broad categories of thinking. One category consists of free-form activities like daydreaming and meditating, and I will address these in a later column. The second category includes the disciplined process of asking questions and trying to answer them. This is the practical side of thinking and is the perspective of this article. Does it make sense to write a brief article about thinking? Not a learned, academic treatise on cognitive science – but a short pragmatic missive, practical and prescriptive. I think so. I think clarifying the concept of thinking gives people a way – a process – and perhaps provides greater access to thinking.

When I think about the issue of thinking, what am I really doing? I am asking a question – I actually say to myself – “what is thinking?” I might further ask, “what does my mind do when I try to think?” Or maybe, “How can I think without asking a question?” And so on. I don’t get very far with all of this, because no matter how I try to direct my thoughts, I discover that I am always asking a question. Every single time.

This would be hard enough if all there was to it was asking good questions. But for the process to be of real value, I have to consider answering the questions as well. Or at least I have to consider possible answers. So my simple definition of thinking is: asking questions and considering possible answers.

Why don’t I just say answering questions rather than considering possible answers? Because generating definitive, single-pointed answers is only one kind of thinking. The second, perhaps more powerful kind of thinking – particularly in the realm of strategy – is known as inquiry. In the process of inquiry, you ask questions and look at possible answers. Your goal is not a definitive answer, for that would bring the inquiry to a close. Rather you peel back the question, like the leaves of an artichoke, revealing more questions, and more possible answers, and so on. At some point, you get to the heart of the matter, just as you get to the heart of the artichoke.

To think about an issue, focus your mind by asking one or more germane questions. Each question should be designed to elicit a response driving your mind in a particular direction. You can ask questions serially, answering each in turn, or stack your questions one on top of another, attempting to answer the whole lot of them at once when the time is right. Sometimes your answers will give birth to more questions. Even your unanswered questions will sometimes yield more questions.

When do you cease asking questions? When you have thought the thing through – when you have developed sufficient ideas that profoundly illuminate your original question.

There are other criteria for stopping your questioning. You might decide to inquire into an issue for a fixed period of time, say thirty minutes, or seven days. Or, you might ask a question with the intent of coming up with fifteen or twenty new and provocative answers. You might decide to keep asking questions until your answers yield no further questions, or until your questions yield no further answers. You might not decide any of these things and simply stop when it feels right – when you feel you have the “right” answer. Or you might not stop at all, instead engaging in the question continually.

Then there is the issue of answers. I’ve always liked those 8-Ball fortune geegaws which offer the same answers no matter the question. But what distinguishes thinking from mere questioning is developing answers authentically and responsibly. I think it is the commitment to come up with a useful answer, rather than saying “I don’t know” or simply trotting out some time-worn old bit you know will fit, but not really add anything.

Many times you have no idea as to what an answer might be. What do you do then? One of my favorite perspectives is, “Well if you did know the answer, what would it be?” Another useful perspective is to simply invent an answer. Make one up and see if it fits. Trust your subconscious. Access all of your stored knowledge and experience – it just might come through for you. I think that is thinking.

What kind of questions should you ask? I have no idea, but it’s a good question. Since I am unable to answer it, I have decided instead to offer 16 questions about strategic direction. I think these questions are worth asking. Please substitute we for I, our for my, my company for I and me, as appropriate.

What is my purpose?

What do I want (to be, to do, to have) that I do not already (be, do, have)?

What am I thinking is the real thing, when “the real thing” is simply substituting for something that can really make a difference?

In what ways am I being effective? In what ways am I not being effective?

What isn’t getting done that needs to get done?

What doesn’t exist in our market, which people want, and we could deliver?

What other ways would people like to get what we give them?

What are we doing that we want to stop doing?

What would make us happy?

What did I forget?

When will we be ready?

How hard are we willing to try to make it easy?

What aren’t we taking on because we don’t think we know how?

What is the most important thing, right now? What will be the most important thing next month?

Who could help us?

Where are we looking for answers, and where not?

I hope these questions get you thinking.

Map to a Gold Mine – Could You, Would You?

Bloged in Self Improvement Hub by Admin Wednesday February 25, 2009 at about 11:59 pm

If a total stranger came up to you and said: “I’ve got a map”, what would you think?

Would you be intrigued or would you think he was nuts? What if he added: “It’s a map to a gold mine.” Would that get you interested?

What if he said: “I’ll sell you the map.”

There are many unknown quantities in the above scenario. In other words, there are a number of things that you need to know about the man and his map. Here are some considerations:

  • who is this man?
  • does he have credibility?
  • why is he offering you his map?
  • does the mine still contain gold?
  • who else has he offered his map to?

These are just some questions you might ask about the man, his map and the gold mine.

But let’s assume that the man, the map and his gold mine are genuine. What else would you need to know?

  • where is the mine located?
  • how difficult will it be to extract the gold?

Let’s also assume that the mine is able to be accessed and the extraction process is not cost prohibitive. When you have ascertained that everything is genuine, what would be your next question?

  • how much does the map cost?

Let’s now assume that the map is affordable. Just for instance let us say that the map will cost you $20,000. If you knew you could mine the gold, recoup your money and start making a profit, would you pay the man his $20,000 asking price?

In the back of your mind is there a little voice saying “where’s the catch?” Of course there is. However, let’s also assume that there is no catch. What would be the only thing holding you back from taking advantage of this fantastic offer?

There is only one part of the equation missing. It’s you. Can you make the process work? What do you need to do to mine the gold?

What do you need to know about yourself? If you had the map, could you do anything with it? Would you do anything with it? Would you be prepared to pay the man for his map? Would you be prepared to part with the $20,000 for the map? Is the price too high for you? What if it was $10,000, or $5,000 or $2,500?

On the other hand, would you deny yourself the opportunity because you were concerned that you were giving the man money for just a piece of paper with a few lines and directions on it.

The question I really want you to think about is this – how much are you prepared to pay in time, money and effort for information that can enable you to improve your life?

Studying subjects such as motivation, self esteem and personal development could be just the map you need to find your very own gold mine.

The Power of Self Evaluation

Bloged in Self Improvement Hub by Admin Monday February 23, 2009 at about 11:40 am

It has always interested me that pschologists, and many other great thinkers from all times state that we only use 10% of our brains full potential. Now if you think about it this is a frightening fact. Think about all the people on Earth today that have hopes, dreams ,goals and victories that never get fulfilled. And wonder if everybody operated to their full potential would anybody live a life of uncertainty, poverty, depression and all the other ills that make peoples everyday life a struggle. Think about the 90% of untapped potential within your own mind and imagine what you could give to the world and to yourself if you were just to release a further 10%. That would double your current production.

Now that in itself is a very powerfull thought. If we were to some how find ways of gaining more of our brains potential power what could you do with it? Ask yourselves the question, What in your life would be different if your performance in all aspects of your life were improved by twice the amount that it is now?

Many people who hear these statements think that there is nothing we can do to utilize any more of our potential and that we are just born with our restrictive 10%. Well that has to be completely wrong! Its plainly obvious that different people perform better or worse than others in all our various human skills .

Its starting to become clear to me that that we are only limited by ourselves, and the untouched part of our life does not have to remain inactive . We can begin to use more of the God given potential we have if we are willing to learn and utilize a few home truths. Why are we the way we are? Has anybody asked themselves this? I certainly hadn’t untill recently.

During each waking hour our actions and statements reflect the way we feel about ourselves, this is whats known as our Self Image. This is very important to the way we perform and if we have a bad self image we are obviously not going to function to our full potential.

Before I go any further I want you to understand that I am not claiming to be a psychologist or an excellent personal developement trainer, I am just interested in this subject and have read many theories on how to combat the power of our self evaluating image if negative. Have you ever really examined the way you feel about yourself, why you feel that way, and would you want to feel any different? Is it really that important? Well, you could argue that it isnt if you are satisfied with everything you do. But if you want to chage your life, actions, acomplishments and future, learning about your self image is vital.

As maturing individuals, we take our self-images and whether we know it or not shape our whole lives around it, we become a product of our own self evaluation. This happens because our subconscious mind, the 90% we dont control ,accepts what our conscious mind is telling it. Therefore creating the outcome that we have already given to ourselves.

Now try to stay with me here! Because of this it is of enormous benefit to us all that we can use our conscious mind to improve our 90% of untapped potential just by mentally “seeing” ourselves doing what we want to be doing. Now this isnt just goal setting, we’ve all heard the self help experts bang on about setting goals to achieve greater potential but in reality thats just half of the equation.

What I have been trying to do lately is to revaluate my self image in order for my sub conscious mind to act apon what my self image is creating. With the hope that the outcome will be unleashed potential that I’d only dreamed about before becoming reality. I must say that it does not take much time to notice a diferance especially in your overall well being. feeling good about yourself can only help achieve much more.

Its obvious really isn’t it ! But I bet most of you out there would benefit from the following Self-Evaluation exercise.

This is a generalisation that you can fit into any area of your life whether it be personal, work related or other. I have personally found it to benefit my home business life because the success of that boils down to you alone, there is no-one to back you up.

Ask yourself these questions:

1.If I could have any job or posotion, what would it be?

2.If I could live my life again, what changes would I make?

3.What has been my greatest achievement in life and what was it that got me there?

4.What are my greatest strengths?

5. Are my weaknesses fixable, are they just an image I have created?

6.What has been my greatest disapointment?

7.What will make me actually achieve more success?

8. What is my main goal or purpose at this time?

Answer these as honestly as you can , think about the answers carefully and this will help you start using that untouched potential. Results will come quickly if your self image is improved.

I am going to leave you now on those thoughts, thanks for reading

Have You Missed Your Soulmate?

Bloged in Self Improvement Hub by Admin Saturday February 14, 2009 at about 4:23 am

Many people believe in love at first site. They believe that in an instant, they will know who they should be with for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, these unrealistic expectations often end in divorce. On the other hand, some couples spend 10 or 15 years getting to know each other before marriage. They’ll live together, make major purchases, and even have children, before making a commitment to get married. Unfortunately, many of these marriages also end in divorce because even though they committed with their heads (and maybe even their hearts) the couple didn’t know how to make a soul commitment. Finally, some people go along being unhappily single. They desire to be married, but they find themselves playing games and dating without setting realistic personal goals for their future. Maybe you’re one of the people I’ve mentioned above. You’re in a relationship (or your waiting for one), and you’re wondering, “Is this it? Have I really found my soulmate?” What if I told you that knowing your soulmate has more to do with knowing who you are and your level of commitment, rather than finding the “perfect match” to complete you? I bring this up because I came across a book entitled Sacred Marriage: What If God Designed Marriage to Make Us Holy More Than to Make Us Happy? It made me think about how true soulmate relationships are formed: God prepares each individual and brings them to a point where their souls can effectively be knitted together for His purposes. With this thought in mind, here are three ways for you to recognize your soulmate: 1. The communication between the two of you is transparent. “In his excellent book, Why Am I Afraid to Tell You Who I Am?, John Powell describes the five levels of communication: cliche, fact opinion, emotion, and transparency.”– From Starting Your Marriage Right, by Dennis and Barbara Rainey. Transparent communication means you and your partner can move beyond the cliches, facts, opinions, and emotions to a level where you are both vulnerable, but where truth prevails in your relationship. Transparency doesn’t come quickly for most people, but when it does, freedom is not far behind. Transparency comes only with courage, nonjudgemental attitudes, and most importantly, trust. And this leads me to my next point. 2. You and your soulmate will trust each other completely. That means you don’t have to wonder if your loved one is doing something inappropriate, without thought to your wellbeing, or without sound judgment. Trust comes when words and actions line up to form a coherent picture of the person you love. 3. You and your soulmate know the meaning of unconditional love. One may say, “Keishia, how can you believe in such a concept in this day in age? This kind of love never happens in real life.” I’m here to say that it does. If you’ve read some of my other articles, you’ll note all of the things that must be stripped from a person’s character (selfishness, pride, and jealousy) in order to get there. We can’t get there by our own will, but rather by God’s grace and by understanding His nature. No matter how hard we try to do it in our own strength and conviction, leaning on divine intervention is the only way to rid ourselves of these three character flaws. Ultimately successful soulmates aren’t just born at some point in time or space to hook up by sheer coincidence. They are made over time to be with each other for a lifetime. If you’re wondering where yours is, look inward and upward and you’re bound to discover more than what you’ve seeking.
